I'll never for the life of me understand those who would say "You know, we NEED a real good snow storm!". Yeah, we need a real good snow storm like one would need a real good hernia. Doesn't make any sense. Yes, I know it's New York state and snow is to be expected this time of year but do people really like to have to travel on the roads in a foot of snow and ice, especially with Thanksgiving on the way? Do you really like the absolute mess it makes of your vehicle?

Fortunately, most parts of the Hudson Valley won't be getting anything approaching a foot but we are expecting snow showers Tuesday which should be turning over to a heavy rainfall overnight in to early Wednesday. Mother Nature sure loves to do this right around one of the busiest travel days of the year.  Parts of western and northern New York will be getting upwards to a foot of snow however.  Hopefully this isn't an ominous sign of what to expect this winter in our area.
