The Times Herald is reporting that the City of Newburgh is advising people to avoid contact with a stretch of shoreline by the Pier Loun Condominiums and the Newburgh Yacht Club, on the Hudson River, because raw sewage is leaking from a discharge pipe at the end of Park Place.

The City of Newburgh said Tuesday morning the advisory is in effect while the city undertakes emergency repairs.

A faulty connection between a sewer main and the outfall pipe is being blamed for the leak, officials told the Times Herald Record. The sewage discharge has been ongoing for decades, according to city officials.

This isn't the only sewage leak reported in the Hudson Valley this week. In Kingston, over 58,000 gallons of sewage leaked into a waterway.
