Listeners in the Mexican state of Sinaloa were horrified after gunmen forced their way into a local radio station, and shot a radio host dead during the middle of his show. Atilano Roman Tirado did a weekly radio show known as Asi es mi Tierra on the Fiesta Mexicana radio station in Mazatlan. He was an outspoken activist who lead 800 farm families who were all displaced by the construction of the Picachos dam. Prosecutors say that the gunmen entered the building and pushed their way past the receptionist area. They say the intruders hit another employee with the butt of a pistol, before reaching the studios and firing the 9 mm pistol at Tirado.

Sinaloa Governor Mario Lopez Valdez said that the crime will not go unpunished but as of now there have been no arrests reported.
