Land that was supposed to be used for a major Hudson Valley shopping center is now up for grabs. The Times Herald Record reports a marketing campaign has been launched in an attempt to find a new buyer for the land across from the Newburgh Mall on just off Route 300.

Multiple projects that were proposed for the site have fallen through over the last 10 years. Most recently, Loop Hudson Valley, fell through due to a lack of funding. The marketing plan launched by Orange County Partnership aims to sell all, or parts of the property. According to the town Assessor's Office, they 17 tax lots are worth more than $5 million.

The OCP sent an email blast this week touting the property as 'The Jewel of the Northeast'. The site does have a great location, located by the NYS Thruway and I-84. An environmental review has also been completed, sufficient for 850,000 square feet of development.

A last ditch effort to revitalize the project stalled earlier this year, when a proposal was put forth to add residential units and reduce the size of retail space. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time to save the deal, leading to the sale.
