Of all the things that may fall from the sky and cause damage to your home, this is usually not something you'd expect. The Times Herald Record reports that a propeller fell off a single-engine plane and actually sliced through the roof of a home in the Montgomery County hamlet of Hagaman, 28 miles north of Albany

The Daily Gazette of Schenectady reports the owners of the home were fortunately out when the accident occurred around 2 p.m. Thursday. The plane had sustained enough altitude and speed which helped the pilot safely glide to a landing at the pilot's nearby private landing strip, according to the Times Herald Record.

NY State police say no one was hurt. Investigators say the Federal Aviation Administration was alerted and will conduct a joint investigation with state police.
