Poughkeepsie Cheese Wins Best in Nation

A local farm has received national recognition for being one of the best cheese makers in the country.  According to Chronogram magazine, Sprout Creek Farm bested several categories in the American Cheese Society's annual awards.  The Poughkeepsie farm had the best Eden and Margie cheeses in America and walked away with the third best Madeline cheese.  Most impressively, Sprout Creek Farm took third place in the best-in-show category.

The 200 acre not-for-profit farm located on Lauer Rd. in Poughkeepsie describes itself as a working farm, an educational center, a retail market, a peaceful sanctuary, a summer camp and a place for intellectual inquiry.  They can now add "a national award winning cheese maker" to the list.
