Another favorite Hudson Valley watering hole is closing.

The Hop, a popular craft beer restaurant located on Main Street in Beacon, is closed indefinitely. In a short post to Faceboook at 5:50pm on Monday (October 24th) the restaurant stated, "The Hop is now closed indefinitely. Thank you all for making it a success. Cheers!" There is no word, yet, on why the popular Beacon stop has closed its doors.

The Facebook post has subsequently been deleted.

Cheese, chocolate, ciders, cocktails and craft beers drew big crowds to The Hop. They prided themselves on serving wines and liquors with purpose while focusing on the "quality and locality" of the products they were selling, according to their website. The Hop opened in Beacon in November of 2014 after starting as a small tasting room. Their location in Beacon was able to host a private party of 30, serve up to 20 guests at the bar, while also entertaining up to 100 patrons in the biergarten outside.

Taking a look at The Hops website and social media accounts, it seems as though they had big plans for October and their Oktoberfest menu. What do you think went wrong?

Either way, I'll be missing The Hop...and the tots.
