Police: Woman Arrested After Assaulting Husband Over His Excessive Flatulence

A fight over a husband's flatulence has lead to the arrest of a Florida woman.

CBS 12 reports that police arrested 55 year-old Dawn Meikle, of Port St. Lucie, for domestic battery.

The incident reportedly happened early on he morning of December 11.

Donald Fitzroy Meikle told police that his wife elbowed him on the arm when he broke wind while they were in bed. The gas eventually got so bad that Dawn kicked her husband out of bed.

The woman later gave her husband a second chance and allowed him back into bed. His barrage did not stop, as he ended up farting again on her. Reports indicate that Dawn repeatedly kicked and elbowed him in retaliation.

Dawn Meikle called 911.

WPTV reports that Donald told police that he began restraining his wife for his own safety but her "lip was inadvertently split open".

A police affidavit states:

Dawn stated when (her husband) did not stop passing gas she began elbowing and kicking him.

The affidavit doesn’t state what Meikle’s husband ate before the incident.

Police reported that as Dawn was in the bathroom calling 911 she discharged pepper spray in the air to keep Donald away.
