An Ulster County woman who’s accused of driving erratically without a license later swallowed drugs in an attempt to hide them from police, authorities said.

Police responded to the area of Broadway in Port Ewen after a 911 call about an erratic vehicle. Deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff's Office were able to locate the vehicle and the driver, 28-year-old Aleesa M. Naccarato of New Paltz.

Police soon learned that Naccarato was driving with a suspended driver's license and the registration of the vehicle was also suspended. She also allegedly destroyed physical evidence by swallowing drugs before she was taken into custody.

Naccarato was charged with tampering with physical evidence, a felony, and 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, misdemeanors.

Naccarato was arrested and transported to the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center. She was released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Esopus Justice Court.
