Police: Ulster County Man Arrested for Rape

A Plattekill man has been arrested for rape following an investigation into events that transpired in 2011. 

State Police from the Highland barracks arrested Edward M. Thomas, 25, of Plattekill and charged him with the following:

• Rape second-degree, felony
• Criminal Sex Act second-degree, felony
• Promoting a Sexual Performance of a Child, felony
• Endangering the Welfare of a Child

The charges were a result of an investigation into a sexual relationship with an underage female in the Town of Plattekill in 2011.

Thomas was arraigned in the Town of Plattekill Court and remanded to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $100k cash bail, $200k bond.
