While in route to a reported domestic dispute, Saugerties police were notified that gun shots had been fired inside the residence.

After responding to Spaulding Lane in Saugerties, a male told police that during an argument his girlfriend fired two rounds from an AR15 rifle in the same room that they were arguing in. An investigation by police discovered several bullet holes in a couch and wall inside the residence.

The alleged shooter was identified as 33-year-old Marisa L. Scarrone, of Queens. Authorities say she fled the residence prior to the police arrival. She was found a short time later in a nearby wooded area. Scarrone was charged with 1st-degree reckless endangerment, a class D felony.

Scarrone was arraigned in the Town of Saugerties Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail.

Police are continuing their investigation and additional chargers are pending.
