A Scranton man is in jail in the Hudson Valley without bail after police allegedly found crack cocaine.

On Sunday morning, New York State Police patrolling State Route 17 in the town of Goshen executed a traffic stop for an alleged traffic violation.

During the traffic stop, police found over four ounces of crack cocaine, authorities say.

The driver, 21-year-old Victor Mercedes of Scranton, P.A., was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminally using drug paraphernalia and obstructing governmental administration.

Mercedes was arraigned in the Town of Wallkill Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail with no bail set.
