Police are investigating and are asking for the public’s help after a fatal shooting of a 51-year-old Newburgh man.

On Friday around 9:15 p.m., police say 51-year-old Glenton A. Wright, of the City of Newburgh was fatally shot in the area of 50 Benkard Avenue.

Authorities are ruling Wright’s death a homicide. There are no other reported victims. Police have not made any arrests. Nor have they provided any other details on the shooter(s).

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to call City of Newburgh Police at (845) 561-3131.

City of Newburgh Police is investigating the fatal shooting with the New York State Police Major Crimes Unit and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
