Police have launched an investigation after a man was struck by a vehicle in Orange County. 

On Sunday at approximately 6:03 p.m. City of Middletown Police responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, police located a 57 year old male, who had been struck by a 2015 Honda CR-V that was traveling westbound on Wickham Avenue.

The vehicle was operated by a 67-year old male, who remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

On scene, officers provided treatment to the victim, who suffered a serious head injury. The victim was transported to Orange Regional Medical Center, with non-life threatening injuries.

Based upon the severity of the impact, the New York State Police’s Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) was contacted and the accident was reconstructed.

At this time, no charges have been filed, and no summonses were issued.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
