The Daily Freeman reports that a 31 year-old man from Pennsylvania set himself on fire using gasoline after being pulled over by authorities. The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy stopped a man wanted for attempted homicide in the village of Horseheads early Friday morning.

31-year-old Darren Desruisseaux of Coatsville, PA was hospitalized after police say he locked himself in his car, doused himself with gasoline, and then lit himself on fire. The deputy who pulled him over learned while checking his driver’s license that he was wanted for attempted homicide in Exton, Pa. Police extinguished the fire and pulled the man from the vehicle.

The Freeman says that Desruisseaux was listed in guarded condition Tuesday.
