A man who drove his car into a house in Orange County is accused of driving while intoxicated and impaired by drugs.

Thursday around 3:50 a.m., Monroe Police were sent to Spring Street for a report of a car that drove into a house. Arriving officers checked on the driver and residents of the home, no one was injured.

Police say that Ian Stewart, 21, of Monroe was driving West on Spring Street when he crossed the double yellow lines, struck a traffic sign, hit a fire hydrant, and then crashed into the house.

Stewart was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while impaired by drugs, reckless endangerment of property, misdemeanors, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Stewart was remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $500 Bail.
