Following a month-long investigation, a Newburgh man was been charged in a shooting that occurred at a local bar. 

On January 7, 2018, at approximetely 3:45 a.m. City of Newburgh police responded to Untouchables Bar on Liberty Street for Shot Spotter activation.

Upon arrival, officers located a victim that had sustained a gunshot wound to the lower leg. The victim was transported to St. Luke's hospital where he was uncooperative with officers.

The grant funded Non-Fatal Shooting Task Force, took over the investigation. This task force was created to focus on bullet-to-body shooting cases in the City of Newburgh with an emphasis on victim or witnesses who are uncooperative.

The task force spent the last month investigating this incident.

On February 8, 2018, the City of Newburgh SWAT team executed a court ordered no-knock search warrant resulting in the arrest of Tyshuon Patterson, 33, of the City of Newburgh.

Patterson was charged with Assault second-degree, and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon second-degree.

Patterson is currently awaiting arraignment.
