Police: Man Arrested In Hudson Valley For Intoxicated Driving With Kids in Car

A Vermont man received a felony DWI after police say he was seen driving drunk with two children in his vehicle.

Jeffrey R. Vandyk, 44, of Vermont was arrested at the Rip VanWinkle Camp Ground on Blue Mountain Road in the Town of Saugerties. Saugerties Police received a complaint of a man urinating on the grounds, in public view, and then getting back into his car.

A witness took Vandyk’s car keys from him and contacted police. Vandyk was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a felony. Police say he was driving with two children in his vehicle.

Vandyk was processed and released to a third party. He is scheduled to return to the Town of Saugerties Court on May 11.
