An Ulster County man in a pick-up truck allegedly attempted to hit a man who was changing a tire on a  tractor-trailer.  

On Friday August 4th, 2017 members of the Saugerties Police Department investigated a reckless endangerment complaint that occurred on Old Kings Highway.

The victim, an employee at Steyer Automotive reported that Richard V. Sprague was operating a blue Ford Ranger in the area where the employee was changing a tire on a disabled tractor trailer.

Sprague reportly drove toward the employee, causing him to dive under the tractor trailer to avoid being struck by Sprague's vehicle.

The victim reported that Sprague slowed his truck down and "gave the middle finger gesture" pointing at the victim.

On August 5th, 2017 Saugerties Police arrested Sprague and charged him with Reckless Endangerment in the second-degree.

Sprague was arraigned in the Town of Saugerties Court and released on $500.00 bail.

Sparague was issued an stay away order of protection on behalf of the victim and Streyer's business.
