A paroled man living in Dutchess County -- who happens to have the same name as a New York Giants legend -- is accused of keeping a loaded gun in his home.

On Wednesday around 9 p.m., New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie charged 39-year-old Lawrence Taylor of LaGrange with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class C felony.

Late Wednesday night, troopers were dispatched to Hudson River Housing to assist New York State Parole Officers with a parolee allegedly in possession of a firearm.

Parole officers conducting a home visit at Taylor’s residence located a loaded Smith and Wesson .32 caliber revolver, officials say.

Taylor was arraigned in the Town of LaGrange Court subsequent to the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision issuing a warrant ordering his arrest. He was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail. Taylor is scheduled to reappear in LaGrange Court on Oct 18.
