Police arrested a Kingston man who allegedly assaulted, choked, and injured a female nurse.

Mark J. Kasmir, 42, was charged with 2nd-degree assault and 2nd-degree strangulation, felonies.

Police say on April 26, Kasmir assaulted a 55-year-old female nurse while she was working at the Marys Avenue Campus of Health Alliance. During the assault, Kasmir allegedly grabbed the female by the neck and chocked her. The victim suffered many injuries which required treatment at the Broadway Campus of Health Alliance.

3 days after the attack the victim reported the incident to police. After a police investigation a warrant was issued for Kasmir, police say.

Kasmir was processed, arraigned and remanded to Ulster County Jail.
