Police arrested a Kingston couple after an altercation where the man allegedly assaulted the female. Police say the female then hit the man with her car.

The Ulster Police Department Police responded to a report of a violent domestic dispute in the Watermill Townhouses on Penstock Lane. Officers say they found 21-year-old Jeffery Dawson, of Kingston, in violation of an order of protection after he assaulted Ariana M. Rescigno-Ramos, 20, also from Kingston.

A further investigation by police determined that Rescigno-Ramos allegedly hit Dawson with her vehicle as he attempted to leave the area on foot.
Dawson was charged with 1st-degree criminal contempt, a felony. He was arraigned in the Town of Ulster Town Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 property bond.

Rescigno-Ramos was arrested for 3rd-degree assault, a misdemeanor. She was arraigned in the Town of Ulster Town Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 property bond.

Both are due back in court on May 4.
