Three Dutchess County businesses are alleged to have sold alcohol to an undercover minor and employees face misdemeanor charges.

The Poughkeepsie Journal reports that an undercover operation was conducted by underage drinking enforcement officers on September 17. During the sting, police say three local businesses sold alcohol to a 19-year-old volunteer working with authorities.

The three businesses are K&D Deli in Poughkeepsie, Bourbon Street Wine and Liquor in Hyde Park, and Julian's Deli in Hyde Park. The employees who sold the alcohol are all being charged with unlawfully dealing with a minor. The businesses themselves could face stiff penalties and fines.

Two weeks ago, five businesses in Orange County were charged with selling booze to underage volunteers. And over the summer five more Dutchess County businesses were alleged to have sold alcohol to an underage volunteer. In fact this is the sixth sting operation we have reported on this year where local businesses have been charged with selling to underage customers.
