Police are still investigating after they found a Hudson Valley man dead outside of a burning car.

Ramapo police say the suspicious car fire started around 12:20 a.m. Tuesday morning along a dirt road off Waldron Terrace in Sloatsburg. A deceased male was found outside the car.

The cause of death is under investigation. Police have not released the name of the victim but say he was from Middletown.

The Rockland County Medical Examiner is attempting to determine the man's cause of death.

Investigators have yet to find any evidence that shows anyone else being at the scene at the time of fire, but it hasn’t been ruled out.

Ramapo Police is being assisted by the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, Medical Examiner’s Office, State Police, and Sloatsburg Fire Department.
