Police: Hudson Valley Woman Traded Friend’s Mercedes For Mazda
A Hudson Valley woman is accused of trading in her friend’s Mercedes Benz for a Mazda without permission.
On Monday, New York State Police from Wappinger arrested 26-year-old Victoria R. Serino of Poughkeepsie for criminal possession of a forged instrument, grand larceny and falsifying business records, all felonies.
In January of 2017, troopers were contacted by a Rome, N.Y., man who said an acquaintance traded in his 2001 Mercedes Benz at a Poughkeepsie car dealership without his permission.
An investigation revealed that Serino possessed a forged title for the Mercedes and submitted an application to the DMV for a new title, in her name, police say.
After receiving the new title under her name, Serino is accused of trading the Mercedes in for a 2016 Mazda.
Serino was arraigned in the Village Wappingers Falls Court and released on her own recognizance. She is due back in court on May 9.
