Here's more proof that having thousands of drunk people dressed like Santa roaming the streets is a bad idea.

A New Windsor man was arrested at the Santacon in Manhattan last week, and now a Middletown man has been arrested after a run-in with an officer at Hoboken's version of the Santa-themed pub crawl.

Last week Antonio Smith from New Windsor was accused of punching a 24 year-old-woman in the face in Manhattan. The incident happened at a rooftop bar on Fifth Avenue in Chelsea. The 38-year-old Hudson Valley man was charged with assault by police.

Now, an unidentified Hudson Valley man from Middletown has been charged with assaulting a police officer in Hoboken. According to Hoboken Police Chief, Ken Ferrante, two police officers were assaulted on December 15, during the city's official Santacon event. One officer was taken to the hospital for a dislocated thumb, and another sergeant was punched in the face.

Police say that one of the defendants is a "22 yr old male from Middletown, NY." It's unclear if police believe the Orange County man is responsible for dislocating an officer's thumb or if they think he's the one that punched an officer in the face.

Either way, it's just another example of how drinking and Santa costumes just don't mix.
