Police: Former NY Mets Player Murdered by Girlfriend

Police say a former player for the New York Mets was killed in a murder-suicide, allegedly perpetrated by his girlfriend. What's worse, their 14-month-old child was present.

PIX 11 is reporting that Darryl Hamilton and his girlfriend, Monica Jordan, were found dead in their Texas home on Sunday. Hamilton's body was discovered with gunshot wounds near the front door while Jordan had what police say were self-inflicted gunshot wounds.

Their 14-mont-old child was home at the time and has been put in custody of child protective services.

Darryl Hamilton played for the Mets during his career, as well as the Milwaukee Brewers, San Francisco Giants, Texas Rangers and Colorado Rockies. Before his death, Hamilton had been working as an analyst for MLB Network.
