A Hudson Valley man is accused of purposely driving drunk into two police cars while trying to flee.

On Thursday just before midnight, officers from the East Fishkill Police Department were sent to a home on Palen Road for a report of a dispute between a husband and wife. Police were told there was an active order of protection in place between the two parties and the man fled the area in a red SUV.

Police later found the SUV heading east on Route 52. A marked police car, with its emergency lights and sirens activated, tried to pull the driver over, officials say.

The driver didn't stop and is accused of intentionally driving into two marked Town of East Fishkill police vehicles.

Authorities were eventually able to get the vehicle to stop on Interstate 84 on the ramp to the Taconic State Parkway, police say.

The driver, 51-year-old Donald. L. Curry of Mohegan Lake, was charged with two counts of attempted assault,  two counts of criminal mischief,  two counts of reckless endangerment, reckless driving, criminal contempt and aggravated driving while intoxicated, as well as undisclosed traffic violation.

Curry was arraigned in Town of East Fishkill Court and remanded to Dutchess County Jail on $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
