Police: Body Discovered on Dutchess Rail Trail

New York State Police are investigating an apparent suicide, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. The body was found on the Dutchess Rail Trail in the area of Route 376 and Diddell Road in the Town of Wappinger Monday morning. 

New York State Police say that a preliminary investigation indicates that the person died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Further information is not being released until the victim's family is notified, police said.
