Police: Babysitter Brandished Gun in Front of Children

An Orange County woman attempted to teach the children she was caring for a lesson, by allegedly pointing a gun at them. 

NFN Michail, 63, of Circleville with Assault in the Third Degree, three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, three counts of Menacing in the Second Degree, and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

State Police arrested Michail following a report to the New York State Child Abuse Hotline that stated she pointed the firearm while caring for the three children. The investigation revealed that Ms. Michail was attempting to teach the children some type of lesson while holding the firearm in front of the children.

The investigation also revealed that Mchail did cause physical injury to one of the children after she disciplined the child.

A request for an order of protection was made on behalf of the children.

Mchail was arraigned and released with an appearance ticket and is due back in court at a later date to answer to her charges.
