Police Arrest Hudson Valley Man for Allegedly Bringing Loaded Gun to Airport
A local man was arrested after police say he brought a loaded gun to Newark Liberty International Airport on Sunday.
The Times Herald Record reports that Woodstock resident Gregory Soltanoff was caught by authorities who claim he was attempting to get a gun and ammo through security. TSA agents say they found a 32 caliber gun loaded with six bullets in Soltanoff's bag during a routine X-ray screening.
Soltanoff was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun and hollow-point bullets. The 40-year-old Ulster County resident was later released. There was no disruption to air travel over the incident. Soltanoff's reason for bringing the gun to the airport hasn't been released.
