Police: Hudson Valley Woman Had Grandchildren in Vehicle During Drunk Driving Accident

The Times Herald Record reports that an area woman is being charged with two counts of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child.  55 year-old Judith Ahmed from Plattekill woman was charged Tuesday with felony drunk-driving after she ran off the road and hit several mailboxes.Town of Newburgh police said that Ahmed was driving with both her 3- and 7-year-old grandsons in the car.

Officers were called to the accident on Mill Street around 7:40 a.m on Tuesday. Police say that Ahmed is also being charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, misdemeanors.
