Four people were arrested on felony drug charges after police in Orange County say they were found with over $170,000 worth of drugs.

On Tuesday, Orange County Sheriff Deputies allegedly discovered four Upstate New York individuals in possession of heroin and cocaine while questioning the group at the Super 8 Motel in the Town of Wallkill.

Police say a search of their vehicle yielded around 160 grams of heroin, 54 grams of cocaine, and a number of controlled medications.

Matthew Allen, 29, of Massena, Chase Baxter, 22, of Norfolk, Abby Smithers, 20, and Leann Main, 27, both of Ogdensburg were all charged with 2nd and 3rd degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies.

“I commend the deputies for their observation skills and diligence, arrests like this are a direct reflection of the personnel and training received at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office”, Orange County Sheriff Carl E. DuBois said in a statement.

All four were arraigned in front of Wallkill Town Justice Green and remanded to the Orange County Jail without bail.
