Three men from Dutchess County are accused of being inside a stolen vehicle while in possession of a number of illegal guns and ammunition.

Sunday around 5:00 p.m., officers from the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department spotted a reported stolen vehicle traveling in the area of North White Street and Main Street. Other members of the police department responded to the area and assisted detaining the occupants of the alleged stolen vehicle when it was parked in the area of Mansion Street and Winnikee Avenue.

Police say during their investigation they found several illegal firearms and ammunition inside the alleged stolen car. Officers seized the following:

  • Kel-Tec brand, sub 2000 model, .40 caliber rifle, having a pistol grip and a magazine loaded with eleven rounds of .40 caliber ammunition
  • Hi-Tec brand, model C-9, 9mm semi-automatic handgun, loaded with a magazine containing six rounds of 9mm ammunition
  • Smith & Wesson brand, model 39-2, 9mm semi-automatic handgun, loaded with a magazine containing several rounds of 9mm ammunition.

Curtis Holland Jr, 25, 27-year-old Marcus Figueroa, and 22-year-old Anthony Beckford, all of Poughkeepsie were all charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of a firearm, felonies.

Holland was also charged with grand larceny, a felony, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, misdemeanors

Beckford was additionally charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor.

All three were held at the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department pending their arraignment at City Court.
