Two men are accused of trying to smuggle drugs into a Hudson Valley prison.

On Wednesday, New York State Police in conjunction with the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations arrested two men who allegedly tried to smuggle Suboxone into the into the Fishkill Correctional Facility.

Kennard Blount, 40, of New Windsor was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance, promoting prison contraband and conspiracy, felonies. John E. Walden, 66, of the Bronx was arrested for fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and promoting prison contraband, felonies, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

Walden attempted to smuggle 30 dosages of Suboxone into the Fishkill Correctional Facility, police say. Bount is accused of conspiring with Walden and supplying him with the drugs.

Both were remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.
