Tragedy struck Sunday morning as the NY Daily News says that three people died when two planes collided in western New York.

The Federal Aviation Administration says the accident happened around 9;30 a.m. Sunday in North Collins, New York.

North Collins is a small town located in Erie County, and is south of Buffalo.

The Buffalo News says that the victims are 60-year-old man from Hamburg, New York, and a 69 year-old couple from Eden, New York.

The two planes were part a group of six that left the Hamburg Airport Sunday morning and were heading to Saint Mary's, Pennsylvania to get breakfast and spend the day.

An investigation is pending.
