Phil Simms Will NOT Say ‘Redskins’ When Calling Tonight’s TNF Game For CBS

Tonight, on CBS Thursday Night Football, it's the Giants facing off against their heated divison rivals...the Washington Redskins, but one announcer has stated that they will refrain from using the term Redskin.

Former NY Giant great and current CBS Analyst Phil Simms said last month that he will no longer use the controversial team name which has come under increased fire in recent years as derogatory and racially insensitive towards Native Americans. Simms said that while he isn't taking sides on whether Washington should change their name or not, he is, however, sensitive to those who have complained to him that they find the team name offensive.

Networks such as CBS, ESPN, and Fox have already stated that their announcers do not have to use the term if they choose not to. Other broadcastors and media outlets have already stopped referencing the name all together.
