Need some inspiration for the WPDH Pet Costume Contest on October 24? We've got seven pet owners with ideas to blow the competition out of the water.

The Boris & Robyn Show is hosting a pet costume contest on October 24 from Noon to 3pm at Petco on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie. There will be trick or treat bags for every pet that comes by, filled with goodies. Plus, humans will be able to enjoy free hot dogs from Chocolate Mousse Catering and win fun prizes.

You can bring your costumed pet anytime during the event to get their photo taken on the Halloween runway. Photos will be posted at wpdh.com where listeners will vote on their favorites. Grand prizes will be handed out for the winning costumes, including a full grooming service at Petco, a gift basket including admission to Pet N Play Luxury Pet Resort and even a flat-screen TV.

Participants are asked to bring an item to donate to Pets Alive Animal Sanctuary or simply make a monetary donation of their choosing. We've got a list of suggestions for much-needed items that Pets Alive is hoping to stock up on for the winter.

A big thank you to TEG Federal Credit Union and Newburgh Veterinary Hospital for making this event possible.

If you're not sure what to dress your pet as for the contest, here are a few killer suggestions from some pet owners who are absolutely doing Halloween the right way.
