Pedestrian Hit and Killed by Hudson Valley Driver

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports an investigation is underway involving a deadly crash between a car and a pedestrian. The fatal accident occurred on Thanksgiving Eve around 9 p.m. on Spackenkill Road near Millbank Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie.

A preliminary investigation led by the Dutchess County Sherriff’s Office found that Randall Housey, 48, was killed when he was hit by a car driven by 76-year-old Wappinger resident, Valentine Condon. Housey was taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital and pronounced dead. Police have not identified where Housey lived.

It’s believed that Condon was unaware that she had hit Housey and left the scene. A short-time after the crash, Condon was located and identified by officials. Police say she has been cooperating with the investigation.

The exact cause of the crash is still being investigated by the members of the Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau and Crash Investigation Unit.

At this time no charges have been filed.
