Parts of the Hudson Valley are predicted to see close to a foot of snow. Here's the hour-by-hour forecast for the region and how much snow you should see.

Hudson Valley Weather expects snow to start developing from Southwest to Northeast between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m., with most of the area seeing snow develop after 8 a.m. Snow will mix and change to sleet between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. and then mix with freezing rain, especially south of I-84, between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. The wintery mix should taper off between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Hudson Valley Weather is predicting two to six inches of snow for most of the Hudson Valley, five to nine inches for the Catskills and one to three inches of snow for the extreme lower Hudson Valley.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning for all of the Hudson Valley from Tuesday morning until Wednesday morning.

Below are snow total predictions for the Hudson Valley from the National Weather Service:

  • Ulster County: 5 to 11 inches of snow and ice accumulations of a tenth to a quarter of an inch expected. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph
  • Orange County: 5 to 6 inches of snow and ice accumulations of two tenths to three-tenths of an inch expected
  • Dutchess County: 5 to 7 inches of snow. Ice accumulations of a tenth to a quarter of an inch are expected.
  • Putnam County: 5 to 6 inches of snow and ice accumulations of two tenths to three-tenths of an inch expected
  • Sullivan County: 5 to 9 inches of snow and ice accumulations of up to one-tenth of an inch expected.

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet and ice will make travel very hazardous or impossible, according to the National Weather Service.
