Radio listeners and holiday light enthusiasts joined together to make this Christmas bright for kids living at The Children's Home.

The Boris and Robyn Show invited listeners to stop by and donate gift cards during a series of live broadcasts at several Dunkin' Donuts locations throughout the Hudson Valley. Listeners brought cards for stores like Target, Wal-Mart, Toys R Us to help build a huge mountain of gifts under the Children's Home's tree this Christmas.

The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie received enough cards to insure that each child will receive one this year. In addition, cash donations were also dropped off at the live broadcasts, as well as the ERDAJT light display during the weekend of December 15. Tim and Grace Gay collect for different charities throughout the season as people drive through their world-record light display in Lagrangeville.

As of Monday morning the combination of cash and gift card donations totaled $8,200. Erin Cafarelli from The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie said the incredible outpouring of support was something that means the world to the children who just want to know that there are people out there that care.

The donations will be used to help fulfill the children's holiday wishes this holiday season.
