Over 60 DUI Drivers Removed from Hudson Valley Roads over Holiday

Right before Christmas the New York State Police launched the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign to discourage driving under the influence during the holiday season.

Many residents of the Hudson Valley were out celebrating from late December until the start of 2018. Organizations like AAA were even offering free rides to anyone who needed their car to be picked up if they had too many drinks on New Year's Eve.

However, even with all the safe, sober driving options offered throughout the Hudson Valley some drivers still got behind the wheel after having a drink too many.

According to three different press releases from the New York State Police, troopers from Troop K out of Poughkeepsie and Troop F out of Middletown made over 60 DUI, DWI and driving while ability impaired stops.

Arrests were made from Highland to Montgomery, from Kingston to Catskill and many more towns around the Hudson Valley.

While the holiday Stop DWI campaign has ended, New York State Troopers are always on the lookout for drivers who may be impaired or distracted and who may cause harm to others on the road.
