The holiday season is getting a whole lot brighter for our Troops thanks to the fine folks out in Orange County.

In a press release from the Office of Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus, it was announced that Farmside Acres in Cornwall teamed up with Orange County officials to participate in Tree's for Troops.

Last week we shared news that Tree's for Troops would be delivering several trees to the military men and women at West Point on December 5th.

This week, Executive Steven Neuhaus, Farmside Acres (who has been donating trees since 2009), the 105th Airlift Wing and students from Lee Road Elementary School donated over 600 trees for military families. The 630 trees were shipped out thanks to the 105th Airlift Wing, which is stationed at Stewart Air National Guard Base in Newburgh.

Neuhaus was thrilled with the turn out for Trees for Troops saying "This annual event brings the community together and serves as a wonderful way to provide some Christmas cheer to our brave servicemen and women, and their families. This donation drive hits home and it’s great that we had so many different people out here today to help get Christmas trees to our troops. I’m glad that this great event has continued to grow and thank the Nannini family for hosting it again.”

The trees will be delivered to military families at Fort Benning in Georgia.
