A 70 year-old Livingston County man is lucky to be alive. Police say Donald Farrell was found in the woods Sunday morning after he reportedly fell and couldn't get back up. CBS Albany says that while Mr.Farrell was only about 2 miles from his home in the village of Avon, he spent an entire week in the woods after falling during a walk.

Farrell had last been seen going for a walk on the morning of August. 9. Officials say he was later found by his cousin on the cousin's property. Farrell was taken to a Rochester hospital and is being treated for dehydration. In spite of his ordeal, police say he is in "excellent condition" considering he had been exposed to the elements for a week.

The village of Avon is about 20 miles south of Rochester.
