NYS Police Looking For Man Who Placed Skimmer Device on Local ATM
It's never fun hearing your personal information has been compromised, especially when it comes to your banking account and information.
A press release from the New York State Police Troop K is asking for help in locating a man who installed an ATM skimming device at a local Hudson Valley bank.
On January 26th the NYS police shared an image of a man at an ATM machine at the TEG Federal Credit Union on Route 9 in Wappinger. The man allegedly attached a skimming device to said ATM.
If you have any information regarding the man in the photo below please contact the Troop K Headquarters at (845) 677-7300. When you call ask to speak to Investigator Dolcemascolo.
The device is able to send your credit card information when it's swiped to whomever planted the skimmer, whether it be at an ATM or even a gas pump. According to CNBC, card skimming is costing more than $2 billion a year in fraudulent charges.
