On Saturday at 2AM New York State Troopers observed a vehicle operated by Ali B. Hedhili commit several traffic violations and they initiated a traffic stop.  The State Troopers had Hedhili exit the vehicle at which time they detected a strong odor of alcohol from the driver who also appeared physically impaired.

Hedhili failed the Field Sobriety Tests, refused the breathalyzer test and was taken into custody.  As part of the arrest investigation, the police determined that Hedhili, a 40-year-old resident of Wappingers Falls, had three prior DWI convictions, including one for Aggravated DWI. Hedhili was also found to have a revoked driver's license as a result of a previous DWI conviction.

Arraigned in the Town of Dover Court on charges of felony DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation, operating a motor vehicle without an ignition interlock device, criminal possession of a weapon and several traffic violations, Hedhili was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail. The defendant is due in the Town of Pawling Court on Jan. 11.
