Mets GM Sandy Alderson had quite a scary moment Wednesday.

The Times Herald reports that Alderson was talking with reporters during a conference to announce a contract extension for manager Terry Collins, when he suddenly collapsed.

Alderson, who turns 68 on November 22, reportedly did not eat breakfast, felt lightheaded under the lights of the news conference and then fainted.

Several reporters and photographers where able to partially catch the General Manager. preventing him from falling onto the riser. Once on his back, Alderson was down for about a minute, then was assisted to his feet and into a chair. Alderson even joked with the media after recovering, saying "So where were we?"

He then left with team officials. The Mets said he was being examined by the team's training staff.
