A Newburgh man was arrested for allegedly stealing his twin brother’s identity.

New York State Police arrested Anthony Hutchinson, 21, of Newburgh for 1st-degree identity theft, 2nd-degree forgery, class D felonies, and criminal possession of stolen property, a class A misdemeanor.

An investigation by police revealed that Hutchinson obtained a duplicate Driver’s License belonging to his twin brother and used it to open a bank account in his brother’s name in the City of Newburgh.

Hutchinson also received a traffic ticket in his brother's name and allegedly signed his brother's name when returning his plea to the Town of New Windsor Court. Hutchinson received the ticket after showing his brother’s license when stopped by Troopers.

Hutchinson was arraigned at the Town of Newburgh Court where he was remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.
