An investigation into the sexual abuse of a child resulted in the arrest of a Newburgh man. 

A joint investigation was conducted by the State Police Child Abuse Unit and Child Advocacy Center, along with State Police investigators from the Highland and Montgomery barracks.

Units were investigating the sexual abuse of a child under the age of 13 years old that occurred in the Town of Newburgh and in the Town of Plattekill.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of Timothy Antonucci, 47, of Newburgh. The child and Antonucci were known to each other.

Antonucci was arrested and charged with:

  • Rape in the Second Degree (Class D Felony)
  • Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree (Class B Felony)
  • Criminal Sexual Act in the Second Degree (Class D Felony)
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child

Antonucci was arraigned in the Town of Newburgh and remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail, or $50,000 property bond pending a future court appearance.
