New Yorkers dream most frequently about family, death and a certain four-legged creature. That's right, according to Estately.com, if you crunch the numbers provided by Dreamscloud, a website dedicated to analyzing people's dreams, New Yorkers seem to have a strange nighttime fascination with cats.

The numbers don't lie. In describing their dreams, people from New York most frequently used the words family, cats, city, death and people.  New Jersey dreamers are preoccupied with tornados, kissing, holding hands and running.  Our neighbors in Connecticut dream mostly about babies, flying, shopping and fire and Pennsylvania sleepers are cuddled up with visions of the ocean, lions and "choking to death" dancing in their heads.

Regardless of the meaning, we want to know:  Do you have a recurring cat dream?  Or do you dream about something else?

What does this all mean?  Well according to Dreamscloud, cats can symbolize femininity, magic, or sexuality.  So while we're dreaming about Tabby, maybe we're really exploring our impure thoughts about that cute magician's assistant we saw at the county fair.
